Hiiii!! I'm Rachel! =D. Lovely to meet you!
I'm 17 years old. I have a HUGE passion for helping people and volunteering. Last summer I volunteered at an orphanage in Ghana and it truly changed my life. This summer I volunteered at an orphanage in Nepal for a month. I love to travel and meet new people. I like experiencing new cultures and languages, even though I can never understand accents.
I wish it was a year from now so I could be heading off to college. My dream school is Stanford, but that's a long shot. I would like to go somewhere as far away from Illinois as possible (I'm seriously considering schools outside the country) because although I love Chicago dearly, I'm not a fan of the snow or the wind. I secretly think I was born on a beach.
I have three brothers. My oldest brother was in the Peace Corp, my second oldest brother is an architect. My other brother is going to college in Ohio. I have a sister who is married and has one absolutely beautiful baby girl. Her name is Keely (not Kelly) and I'm completely in love with her. =]
I work quite a bit and don't have much time to do anything else.
I wish humans didn't have to sleep because I think it is such a waste of time. I don't care about the health benefits, I would much rather be skydiving.
I'm ambitious and I'm stubborn and if I feel strongly about something, I can't help but let my thoughts be heard.
I have a huge obession with music and art. A good majority of the bands I listen to aren't very well known.
I'm creative.
I think in words of poetry and I see in terms of art.
I tend to say things as I think of them, which usually ends up in everything being all jumbled up….which explains why I am not a good storyteller.

But I would like to be a writer someday.
And a doctor. =D

Oh and after I graduate (from Stanford of course =]) I fully plan on joining the Peace Corp. Then I want to go to med school and eventually join Doctors Without Borders.

Next stop for me? Hopefully I'll be doing some volunteer work in South America over Christmas break!
